When Sisterhood Strikes
Rohit lived with his family, but his parents—both teachers—were often away, leaving him alone with his older sister, Akanksha. While Akanksha was sharp, confident, and fiercely independent, Rohit spent his days carelessly hanging out with friends, never taking life seriously.
I was Akanksha’s boyfriend. We met often, sometimes even sneaking in late-night visits when the house was quiet. One night, as we lay tangled together in her room, the door flew open. Rohit stood there, eyes wide, phone already raised to snap pictures.
“Delete that!” Akanksha hissed, lunging for the phone. But Rohit dodged, grinning like he’d won the lottery. Panic flashed in her eyes—until it turned to rage. In a heartbeat, she hold his neck, sending him stumbling. Before he could react, she kicked him so hard with her knees between the legs.
He crumpled to the floor, gasping for air, face twisted in pain. His shaky voice begged her to stop, but Akanksha wasn’t listening. She yanked the phone from his hand, deleted the photos, then grabbed his hair, forcing him upright. “You think this is a game?” she snarled.
She knew her brother. Fear was the only language he understood.
Pinning him over the sofa, she spread his legs step backs and delivered another brutal kick from behind. There was a sound of that kick that echoed in the room. Rohit howled, tears streaming as he curled into a ball. He was trying to say something but his voice was shaking and unclear. The sound made *me* flinch—I’d never seen her like this.
“Try blackmailing me again,” she spat, “and I’ll break more than your pride.”
We left him there, trembling and breathless. He wouldn’t move for 15 minutes, maybe longer. As we stepped into the hallway, I joked weakly, “Didn’t know flirting with you came with a risk of death.”
Akanksha shot me a warning glare. “Cross me, and you’ll get worse.”
I left soon after, unsure how she’d handle the fallout. But when I saw Rohit days later, he was still limping, his cocky grin replaced by a haunted stare. Whatever she’d said to him that night… it worked
